Punta Pitt Tour

All three boobies in a single place

From San CristóbalFull day · 7 to 8 hoursModerate

The experience

At the eastern tip of San Cristóbal, Punta Pitt is the only site in Galápagos where all three booby species nest together: blue-footed, red-footed and Nazca. The trail climbs through a canyon of volcanic tuff sculpted by the wind.

The excursion combines that spectacular walk — rocky ground and vast views — with beach and sea time at the foot of the hill, where the sea lions rule the sand.

Three booby species

The only place in the archipelago where blue-footed, red-footed and Nazca boobies nest on the same site.

Tuff canyon

The trail climbs between walls of compacted ash whose shapes and colours are unique at first light.

Olivine beach

The beach at the foot of the hill mixes green olivine sand with sea lion colonies.
